You know, I've got to give RPGNerdos some credit for designing a ship that fixes crew training exploit. Boarding ship with good weapons on start is already overpowered and auto-ships are a traditional weakness. I dunno if it was overpowered on purpose. Crystal race in vanilla is already supposted to be for how hard they are to unlock.

Yeah the 48 jumps "world record" is the least amount of jumps I was able to win with while playtesting this ship. The strat was pretty much b-line for the exit, all you really absolutely need is max weapons and hacking. I added a little meandering in sector 6 and 7 to find a store with cloaking. I also just barely managed to add shields 2 right before the boss. So kind of Rand to not attempt dethrone me, he knew my fragile ego couldn't take it ;)

Definitely some intense (overly laborious) criticism on the ships. I think if you get the sensation that your feedback is too negative think of things that you might include in the creative process, like which upgrades should be adjusted and what things you hoped it might contain from the initial concept.

My worst run was 11 stores sector 5 no weapons and the only free weapon I got was a stun bomb 3 times I lost the run one jump before store number 12

So...Rand my son (20) and I have now started playing FTL and it's been great fun. It's also given me a very great appreciation for just how good you are at this game.

This was a crazy run

When doing a boarding run with hacking, I actually prefer to hack their medbay if they have one and use it as a trap when their weakend crew retreats to heal. I leave the hacking unpowered so they can freely enter the doors, then once the crew I want dead are inside, I power up the hack and activate it, melting the crew inside. It is super devious. Though I only do this if their weapons aren't an immediate threat to my ship. Sometimes it is more prudent to hack the weapons if they have something particularly dangerous.

Honestly that early build with the lone Ion Blast and boarders feels more like what I would expect from your Zoltan equivalent of a Crown Victoria.

Why don't you streak Zoltan C for a while, since this is the streak killer? You got really good luck this run, but obviously you can't count on that happening even next run. If you were able to get more consistent with this ship, your streaking would probably improve drastically. I've only ever succeeded in one hard no-pause run (mantis b), so you're clearly a better player. just a suggestion.

Yeah Lanius B can be tricky but it is still one of my favorite ships.

Rand Can you play Lanius B next? I really like the Lanius boarding strategy. One of the most unique and coolest strategies in FTL IMO. 🤞
